Running a hotel can be a complex business. With so many staff members having such a variety of duties it can be difficult to coordinate a Uniform look across the entire business.

With such an array of departments to clothe, getting the right style across the board can be tricky. Large Hotels have Chef’s, Front of House, Housekeeping and Reception as well as perhaps Grounds Maintenance. All have to follow a specific design theme and style.

Do you really need your Kitchen Porter to match the Spa and Gym staff?

Well, the simple answer is yes, you do. Even if it’s a subtle logo design, colour combination or a tiny tax tab with an initial. Your clientele will pick up on this and subconsciously associate all of your staff as one close-knit team. If they look scruffy or are in a uniform that’s miss matched, your customers will inevitably notice. Ultimately loosing confidence in your brand.

Trust in our knowledge.

Kylemark with its 22 years of experience can provide a service that’s second to none. We will help you from the initial concept to the final delivery. We have a professional team with decades of knowledge between them. They know the industry inside out and will always give you the best advice for your business.

Over my next few posts we will look at all aspects of the hotel uniform. I’ll try to give you some helpful tips when trying to get a style that’s right for you.

So, where do we start?

A good example are the Management, Reception and Front of House uniforms we provided for the Trump Turnberry Hotel in Ayrshire. As you would expect a hotel of this stature requires a certain quality of service. Happily Kylemark can easily provide this to one of Scotland’s most prestigious hotels.

The hotel came to Kylemark looking for a modern take on the classic Scottish theme yet trying to steer away from a total tartan overload. A more subtle approach was needed.

We recommended Birdseye fabric for the male and female Management Suits and Waistcoats. The Waistcoats were also use for the Front of House. But, in addition were given an alternative black style with the Birdseye to the back panel. This worked particularly well as these could be mix and matched for different functions and serving staff.

Long white banqueting aprons were given for servicing staff with short black for the bar. Where appropriate an embroidered Turnberry logo was applied.

We also provided the option of a bespoke slim tie and brooch both designed with the Turnberry tartan.

The overall effect across the board was a classy and high quality concept. The style wouldn’t look out of place in any upmarket organization.

Turnberry were more than pleased and you can see these uniforms at Hotel Reception and any banquet or wedding all year round.

A uniform for everyone.

I will be looking at each sector in more depth so look out for the other blogs coming up in this series:
